Two Good Friends

Hi everyone,

So, I hate to be the reminder of bad news, but the last two weeks have been really hard in general for us as a little family. And I feel that it's only right that I talk a little bit about what's been going on.

Sadly, probably the 2 nicest people I know passed away in the last two weeks. Uche, the most funny, joyful, energetic, electric girl every will always have a huge place in my heart. From that first cheer routine we learned for tryouts, I couldn't have asked for a greater friend. With all the good times that we would have as a group, Uche was always at the center of all the fun. It was sad to see her leave after sophomore year, but I knew it was the best for her and it was good to see her happier and less stressed. I only wished we had stayed in touch over those next two years, but I can honestly say we were pretty lucky to see her at that last Lowell Dance. At first, I hadn't remembered and I just felt so sad that I didn't get to say one last goodbye, but after looking through Linda's pictures, the memories rushed back of that great hug.

And then there is Nelson. What a sweet and always-cheerful person. I know that Jenny, Connie, and Linda were really close to him and that's how I met him...i think. He was immediately open and so nice to a person he barely knew. All I know is that every time I passed Nelson in the halls, we always met with happy hellos and smiles. As an active runner and part of some of the biggest groups of friends at Lowell, it was hard NOT to know Nelson and hear all the great things about him. It seems like everyone I know was friends with him. Over the 4 years I would know him, I would always see Jenny giving him big hugs and Sol acting like they were brother and sister. As I looked through Nelson's facebook pictures, it was really nice to see happy smiling pictures of Nelson and Jenny hugging at Senior Picnic, Nelson and Connie at Senior Prom, and Nelson and Linda at graduation. Even though I didn't know him as well as some of us did, it's obvious how much he is loved and how much everyone cares for him.

These two weeks of tears, recovery, and more tears has really made me realize how easy it is to take the ones you love for granted. Uche's now famous quote:) makes me feel ok about asking for help, that I am not week because I ask for help. And all the love shown for Nelson has shown me how much love not only is in our Lowell community, but with us.

As I talked to each of you today, I was sad for Nelson's family and felt sad in general that we lost such a wonderful person, but as I cried, all I could do was think about how much I love you all and how devastated I would be if anything ever happened. All I could cry about was how soooo many people are hurting, so much hurt, and there is nothing I can do to help. Nothing I say is going to make things better, and it was heartbreaking to know that the ones I love sooo much were going through so much pain. I hope you all know that just because we are far away from each other, I still love you all so much, and our friends' passing shouldn't be what brings us together. I think I have learned my lesson on how fragile life is and how we should really live it to its fullest, and stay in touch with the ones we care about. Now, I'm not going to stop stressing about school and stuff like that, but it's really important to think of our friends that we cared for so much and learn from them. That's what they would have wanted, I can feel it:)

On a happier note, Here are some awesome pictures that will remind us of all the happy times, and even though they are not still here, they're still with us, and thats pretty nice to know! They will always be wherever we are:)

I'm sorry if this made anyone feel bad, but I just wanted all of you to know what I've been thinking about for the last few weeks, and ....you all are the best<3

"Wow..." is all I can say.

I can honestly admit to there being a first time to everything in life. In my "awesome" case, the first times in my life are always somewhat...interesting. I...just stuck my fingers near my friend Kelsey's nose in an attempt to put in her nose ring. Why? oh, well, I guess that's just what friends do for other friends in times of need. Might I say, I'm not easily grossed out by most things, and luckily I wasn't grossed out by her nose, but it definitely was an experience. 1 in the morning..."Hannah, my nose ring won't go in!"Naturally, I volunteer, but why I have no idea. 20 minutes of trying to gently shove this L-shaped thing into someones nose is definitely one of the weirdest things I've ever done for someone. I mean, I've done some pretty gross things, but this one definitely ranks up there on the list. Haha, wouldn't that be funny if that was on my Bucket List LOL!! "Score"

anyways, even though it was kinda gross, there were some good laughs and faces that came out of it:) We didn't get it back in her nose, but who know, maybe i'll try again tomorrow? Let's hope not HA!

IT' SNOWING!!!!!!!

OMG!! It's snowing here in Seattle and I'm sooooo excited!!! they were expecting snow, but being an SF girl, I was expecting the equivalent of the Daly City Dusting from last year, but as the temperature kept dropping, the snow seemed like the real deal, and NOW IT'S HERE!!!! Yesterday I woke up to a light dusting, which was cute, but today is a whole new story!! But this morning, 9 am, I woke up to a giant flurry of actual snowflakes right outside my window!! The hills covered, the streets covered, everything white!! Feels like I'm on the East Coast or something:) All I want to do is run out in the snow and play, but I'm in my PJ's and some booties so that probably isn't gonna happen, but it seems like the snow will be here for awhile:) Just can't get over the snow....because it's AWESOME!!! As much as I don't like rain, snow is a completely different story. And while it's falling? Don't get me started!! That's the best part because everything is quiet an peaceful and the snowflakes are just fun to watch!! Gosh I love it:)
It's kinda hard to see, but it's there:)

On a side note, yesterday I did a first of firsts!! Even though everyone had their 18th birthday before me and I couldn't go clubbing, I went gambling:) (Hopefully i'm the first and everyone hasn't already done that LOL). We took a ferry ride across Lake Washington (?) and who could've guessed that a little wind, a pretty view, and a boat could be so fun! Anyways, with only $3, I made 30 big ones yo'!!! Damn straight, you not trippin'!!:P I was so happy because I was the one who spent the least and made the most!! Thank you luck!

Hittin' up the slots:)
The weekend has been super fun and it's only day two, so I can't wait for the next two days!! Hopefully I can live up to all the goodness:)

I'm Back Officially...We'll See

So I know I haven't written in...forever. And I promised in my last post that I would write more, but that didn't really happen. Fortunately, Jenny convinced me to pick up my posting again and continue writing this blog. I mean, what's a few extra minutes a day when it comes to staying in touch:)

As you might have noticed, I changed my blog name!!! I'm actually really excited because now it feels like it'll be a legit blog instead of just an experiment. Also, forgive me as I try to fix the URL address. It doesn't really matter, but can't be dumb, so it'll probably be changing in the next few days...or not:D

Anyways, I'm glad to be back at school, but miss you all so much!!

Can't wait to share more....possibly some more fort building, more pig riding, and who-know's-what...it is college you know;)

It's Official!

It's FINALLY official! Im 18! Yes, I know you're thinking..."Hannah, you turned 18 two WEEKS AGO!" but Friday night sealed the deal!

Friday was the first time I went clubbing:) and lets just say, the actual club wasn't even the highlight of the night! That night we all had our "special" moments:)!

We started off the night by heading to Club X. The night started off great, that was until we got a little bit lost. hahaha! what else is new! We're in like the sketchiest part of town, walking 2 miles (because we put in the wrong directions) at 11 o'clock  in the dark. Luckily, we only saw 1 creeper :P

We made it to the club and danced the night away haha. But coming back was fun! We naturally thought that buses ran at 3 in the morning. Of course right?? haha, well, after walking about a mile, we finally found a cab! CIVILIZATION!! I've never been so happy to see a cab in my life:D

But, saying that, I must say, there's something about getting lost that just makes it better! It's fun to explore the city and just feel the excitement of what's gonna happen next LOL!

Oh, and then I locked myself out of my dorm. Good stuff right? I left my keys on my desk. One roomie went home earlier and the other was sleeping over at someone else's dorm, so I was stuck! I was gonna sleep in the lounge like a hobo ahahaha, but luckily my friend let me sleep in her dorm!! Sooo lucky!! I don't even want to know what I'll be like when I'm hammered!! Hopefully I won't have to find out:)

In the end, even if the club was ok, the night ended up being SO FUN!! Can't wait to get lost in Seattle again:) It was definitely a Great start to the weekend!!
